Saint-Gobain to increase flat glass capacity in Mexico

Compagnie de Saint-Gobain is building a new flat glass (float) production line in Saltillo in Mexico.
Saint-Gobain said the plant - scheduled to come on stream at the beginning of 2020 - would manufacture glass for the automotive and construction sectors to meet growing demand in Central America, the Caribbean and North America.
Saint-Gobain said this investment reinforced its position in building and automotive glass in Mexico and would complement its manufacturing base in the region.
It said the Cuautla site already included two floats and their associated lines for mirrors and laminated glass, one thin-film coater line in operation and another under construction.
