Gama Aviation has appointed Dr Richard Steeves and Neil Medley to the board to strengthen its leadership team and position the company for its next stage of growth.
Steeves, who joins the Gama board as an independent non-executive director, founded and built up Synergy Health.
Synergy, which was founded in 1991, grew from a £12 million market cap at the 2001 listing on AIM into a global medical hygiene business worth £1.4bn at the time of its takeover by Steris Inc, the Ohio-based sterilisation equipment maker, on 2 Oct 2015.
Gama said:'Richard grew Synergy both organically and through acquisition and brings to the Board valuable experience in building an international outsourcing service business.' Medley, who is the company's current chief operating officer, joined Gama in September 2016, as COO, a new position within the leadership team.
He joined the business from his former post of COO of BAE Systems Applied Intelligence (formerly Detica until its acquisition by BAE Systems).
He has been working alongside chief executive Marwan Khalek to improve business performance across all geographies.
Chairman Sir Ralph Robins said: 'I am delighted to welcome Richard to the group.
'He brings a wealth of commercial and international experience to the business at a time when we are developing our business globally.
'Neil was appointed COO of the group in September 2016 and has already made a valuable impact on the organisation since his appointment.
'I look forward to him contributing his knowledge and experience as a Board director of Gama.'
