The Directors of Rurelec PLC (AIM:RUR) announce that Simon Morris has resigned from the Board with immediate effect. A search for his successor has commenced and a further announcement will be made in due course.
The board will continue to focus on the strategy of actively seeking to dispose of non core assets, in order to increase the financial liquidity of the business, and as part of a strategy to unlock shareholder value in the medium term.
Andy Coveney, Director of Rurelec, said:
"Since his appointment to the board in 2015, Simon has played a key role in the survival of the Company by stabilising the finances against a background of deteriorating operating conditions in the state controlled electricity market in Argentina. His professional experience and steady nerve has been invaluable to the business, for which we are grateful to him."
