NEW CONTRACT WIN
Filtronic plc (AIM: FTC), the designer and manufacturer of products for the aerospace, defence, telecoms infrastructure and critical communications markets, is pleased to announce the award of a new contract win with a quantum computing company for the design, development and supply of microwave filters and diplexers.
The new contract, valued at £0.35m, was awarded to Filtronic because of its long-established experience of designing compact, high-performance filter and diplexer modules. The application will be used within the microwave circuits of both the external control rack and the cryogenic dilution refrigerator of a quantum computer. Filtronic's extensive mmWave heritage and know-how enables critical, out of band performance to be characterised and verified. The project is expected to complete within FY2023.
Richard Gibbs, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "We are delighted to win this contract demonstrating the flexibility of the technology we offer and its use across many adjacent markets. Filters are a cornerstone of our heritage, and we will continue to seek out opportunities for this technology in products and markets that require complex solutions and are non-commoditised. Quantum computing is an exciting new market which we believe could lead to further work."
