Successful registration of Harpin αß in France

Plant Health Care® (AIM: PHC.L), a leading provider of novel patent-protected biological products to global agriculture markets, is pleased to announce that Harpin αß has been successfully registered for use as a fertiliser in France by the Agence Nationale De Securitie Sanitaire (responsible for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety).

This is a major milestone for the Company. France is the largest agricultural producer in the European Union (EU) and this is the first registration of Harpin αß in Europe. France is one of the few countries in the EU which has a legal framework for biostimulant products. Harpin αß, under the trademark ProAct, has approval to commercialise in France until November 2030. Harpin αß is a recombinant protein that acts as a powerful biostimulant, improving the yield and quality of crops. The Company sells Harpin αß through specialist distributors around the world. 

The mutual recognition mechanism will help expand the use of Harpin αß in other European countries.  Europe is the world's largest market for sustainable agriculture with annual sales of over $2 billion.

Harpin αß has made significant market progress in the US and Brazil and, in the first six months to June 2023, sales of Harpin αβ grew 37% to $3.3 million.
