DIRECTORATE CHANGES
IWG plc (the "Company"), the global operator of leading co-work and workspace brands, announces that Florence Pierre stepped down as Non-Executive Director on 30 November 2022, having served on the Board since 21 May 2013.
The Company is pleased to announce that Sophie L'Helias will join IWG as a Non-Executive Director of the Company on 1 December 2022. In accordance with the Company's articles of association Sophie will seek election by the Company's Shareholders at the Company's 2023 annual general meeting.
A trained lawyer, Sophie practiced in New York and Paris for several years before specialising in finance as Managing Director of a New York based investment fund. She also launched an investor consulting business focused on international corporate governance. Specialised in corporate governance and ESG, Sophie is a co-founder of the International Corporate Governance Network (www.icgn.org). She is currently the President of LeaderXXchange™ which creates methodologies and products to assess, optimise and integrate diversity, sustainability, and governance strategies for investors, corporates, and boards of directors.
Sophie serves as Non-Executive Director on the Boards of: Herbalife (NYSE); Africa50; Agence France-Locale; Echiquier Positive Impact Europe funds; and the ECGI (European Corporate Governance Institute). She is a member of the HCGE (Haut Comité de Gouvernement d'Entreprise) and is a Senior Fellow at The Conference Board ESG Center in New York.
Sophie also recently served as Independent Chair of Suez SA (Euronext, now delisted) where she oversaw the conclusion of its merger with Veolia, and as lead independent director of Kering (Euronext).
Sophie is the recipient of the 2019 International Corporate Governance Network Lifetime Achievement Award in Corporate Governance; the 2019 New York Women in Asset Management Award - ESG; the 2018 Global Proxy Watch GPW 10 Award that designates the ten most salutary corporate governance influences in the world each year and was featured in Forbes 40 French Women Leaders list in 2019.
