- Jurassic World 3 release date confirmed
- Follows movie release in early July
- First two series have generated £260m
Video games developer Frontier Developments (FDEV:AIM) announced Jurassic World Evolution 3 will be released in collaboration with Universal on 21 October, 2025, and is now available to pre-order.
This will be the third instalment of the critically-acclaimed JWE (Jurassic World Evolution) franchise and follows the release of the Jurassic World: Rebirth movie set for release in early July.
The latest film sees Jeff Goldblum reprise his role as the iconic Dr Ian Malcolm alongside a cast of new and returning characters.
The first two games in the JWE series have raked in more than nine million sales units, generating over £260 million of revenue to date.
Today’s (9 June) news sent the shares up 4% to 258.9p and follows a positive trading update on 28 May when the company said it expected full year revenue and profit to come in above market expectations.
A NEW ERA
The third instalment, which will be released simultaneously on PC, PlayStation5, and Xbox Series X|S, will for the first time incorporate cross-platform sharing, allowing players to showcase their parks and dinosaur enclosures with a ‘thriving’ global community via the Frontier Workshop.
The game also introduces a brand-new breeding system allowing players to raise juvenile dinosaurs within dynamic family units. Frontier said powerful new tools provide a level of control ‘never seen before’ in the JWE game series.
Peel Hunt analysts said they believe the new game features, boosted by the movie release, a ‘well-executed premium downloadable content strategy and learnings from JWE 2, suggest JWE 3 has great potential.’
Players who pre-order will receive the Badlands Set at launch, including a selection of scenery items inspired by the original film’s iconic dig site, five scenery blueprints from Montana Badlands and an ‘exclusive’ Badlands ATV skin the Maintenance Team.
