Advertising company WPP PLC said it has boosted its Latin American presence with a deal to acquire JeffreyGroup.

WPP shares were 0.6% higher at 780.40 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.

JeffreyGroup is one the regions ‘most-respected’ firms in the fields of public affairs and corporate communications, WPP said.

JeffreyGroup is headquartered in Miami but has a presence in Mexico City, Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.

Its customers include Amazon.com Inc, American Airlines Group Inc, AstraZeneca PLC, Bayer AG and Johnson & Johnson.

WPP did not disclose the sum of the acquisition.
